The federal government requires Primary Health Networks (PHNs) to establish and maintain a GP-led Clinical Advisory Council made up of individuals who represent general practice and other health professionals, including but not limited to nurses, allied and community health, Aboriginal health workers, specialists and hospitals.
The purpose of the Clinical Council is to ensure that influential recommendations and advice from a clinical perspective are made to the GCPHN Board, in order that the best possible decisions on health and primary/community-based health care are made to improve health outcomes in accordance with the strategic intent of the PHN.
