The terms of reference of the Disability Royal Commission are very broad and people with disability, their families and their supporters are encouraged to tell their story about what is not working well and what needs to be done to fix it.
Aged and Disability Advocacy (ADA) Australia has been engaged to provide advocacy support on the Gold Coast to people with disability, their families and their supporters. Your patients can contact the Gold Coast Disability Royal Commission Advocate, Sarah Ward, if they would like more information about making a submission. Sarah is happy to chat to patients about making a submission and how ADA Australia can support them through the process. Sarah can be contacted on 0455 532 876 or on email sarah.ward@adaaustralia.com.au.
You can download a two-page summary of ADA Australia’s advocacy services that can printed out and placed in your waiting rooms, on notice boards or provided to patients.
