For local residents who are finding it a challenging time, support is available, as GCPHN funds a range of psychological services for the Gold Coast community.
The NewAccess program helps people with mild levels of anxiety and/or depression to cope with day-to-day pressures. It’s free, confidential and available to anyone over 16-years-of-age. It has been developed by beyondblue, funded by the Gold Coast Primary Health Network. Simply call 1800 010 630 to find out more.
GCPHN also funds Headspace Southport, who provide tailored mental health support to 12-25-year-olds. Headspace can be contacted on 07) 5509 5900.
GCPHN also funds short-term psychological support for people who are financially disadvantaged with moderate mental health conditions. This includes children aged 0-12, the culturally and linguistically diverse, LGBTIQAP+ and A&TSI communities, women experiencing perinatal depression, people experiencing or at risk of homelessness and people at risk of self-harm. You will need to see your doctor for a referral into this service.
