The message this cold and flu season is still: If you have symptoms, no matter how mild, stay home, don’t go to work, school or the shops, and get tested for COVID-19 as quickly as possible.
If you have any respiratory/cold/flu-like symptoms, such as cough, fever, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny/stuffy nose, fatigue, lack of taste or smell, vomiting, nausea or diarrhoea you can get tested for COVID-19 by heading to one of many COVID-19 testing options available on the Gold Coast. COVID-19 testing options include GP led Respiratory Clinics, some General Practices, Pathology Testing Centres and COVID-19 Testing Centres which are located at Gold Coast University Hospital and Robina Health Precinct (near Robina Hospital).
GPs urge any patients with flu-like symptoms to call the practice before attending any appointment. It is important to remember that whilst vaccinations have commenced, we are still in a pandemic. Vulnerable people in our community are still at risk, and we cannot risk exposing them to COVID-19 . Depending on your needs your GP may arrange a telehealth appointment, you can call 13 HEALTH for medical advice over the phone from a registered nurse or you can book in at a respiratory clinic (located at Hope Island, Upper Coomera, Burleigh Waters and Nerang).
