There are a number of options for Gold Coast community members to be assessed and tested for COVID-19 if they have respiratory symptoms such as a cough, fever, sore throat, shortness of breath. These include the below:
The Commonwealth Government with support from Gold Coast Primary Health Network, has helped establish local respiratory clinics through GP practices, which offers a safe environment for dedicated assessment and testing. These clinics provide a thorough assessment of any respiratory symptoms (fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath etc.) and can also test for COVID-19.
Referrals: There are no referrals required.

Criteria/Details: This clinic is for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their families and vulnerable people. Patients are to phone ahead to book an appointment.

These clinics are run by Gold Coast Health to specifically test for COVID-19.
Referrals: No referral required.
A small number of General Practices are able to conduct testing for COVID-19. You should call your practice in advance to discuss your options. Most practices will refer patients to respiratory or fever clinics or for testing or through dedicated pathology clinics.
If you have respiratory symptoms or believe you are at risk of COVID-19, you should always contact your GP clinic before visiting the practice.
