A specialist COVID-19 Health Care Support Service has been established by Queensland Health, to complement the existing exemption process available for people needing to access essential health care or enhanced support whilst undertaking quarantine.
This new unit, in place from 4 September 2020, will ensure that those who are traveling to Queensland to either access health care or have specific health care needs while undertaking quarantine, are supported.
The 134 COVID (13 42 68) line will be expanded with a team of nurses, social workers and emergency medical dispatchers to triage, manage queries and escalate issues for those who are crossing the border for health care reasons. This will supplement the exemption process already provided by the Queensland Government.
This includes the below factsheets:
A self-assessment quiz is also available on the website to enable the public to navigate through their individual circumstances to determine if accessing the Service is needed.
