At this conference, we are going to explore how to develop characteristics or traits of effective leadership. We will build on these qualities, exploring how to develop sound leadership characteristics. As well as lectures there will be an opportunity to develop communication skills in the form of small group workshops.
Assistance and guidelines will be delivered on how to give negative feedback and manage difficult situations in the role of a nurse leader (manager). We will examine how to develop healthy boundaries which are linked to psychological wellbeing. The issue of burnout will be examined and how it applies to the specific challenges of a nurse leader. The conference’s content is considered vital knowledge as managers and leaders face the unique challenges around them currently in the workplace. The exploration of key concepts will enhance self-development which is linked to the growth of knowledge and skills. This growth will enable the leader to provide support to colleagues and others in their workplace. Often nurses are promoted to positions of leadership with little support on how to manage difficult situations. This can create feelings of inadequacy and an increase in anxiety and stress. This unique conference experience offers not just education but includes a supportive environment with caring and experienced facilitators to assist you to explore these difficult topics. The group will join together to learn practical strategies on how to work with very difficult people in their personal and professional life. This Nursing conference has been developed by two experienced facilitators who look forward to working with you in the natural environment of the beautiful Gold Coast. Other healthcare professionals (paramedics and others) are also very welcome to attend. |
