|While the smoking prevalence in the general population is declining, it remains significantly higher in people living with mental ill health. We need to be part of changing this.|
Primary and Community Care Services (PCCS) Limited are offering an opportunity to improve the health and wellbeing of many smokers, particularly for those living with mental ill health and complex issues.
PCCS are privileged to invite A/Prof Renee Bittoun to present the ‘Nicotine Addiction and Smoking Management’ course. This course is recognised by the Australasian Professional Society on Alcohol and Other Drugs (APSAD) and some universities for a unit of study.
Renee is an international esteemed educator, researcher and advocate. Her courses are very popular and book up quickly.
This online workshop is open to GPs and allied health professionals in the Gold Coast area. This course will be of great interest and value to GPs, pharmacists and psychologists who have the opportunity to build smoking management services and provide improved access to smokers.
PCCS are seeking expressions of interest to attend the course proposed for September 2020.
The content (21 hours) will most likely be spread over a number of weeks and conducted online such as with Zoom. We are also offering a number of financial scholarships to GPs and pharmacists. For further details and to apply for a scholarship please see the ‘scholarship form’ below. Full fee is $800 for the course and materials, (RRP $1700).
Your expression of interest will provide you with a ‘first offer’ place for the workshop when the enrolment period is launched. With such a popular workshop, it’s a good idea to get in quickly.
Closing date: 9.00am on Friday 14 August 2020.
