Gold Coast GPs, practice nurses and practice managers are invited to participate in the Advance Project, a program to support general practices in implementing advance care planning and palliative care into everyday clinical practice.
The first stage, includes free online Advance Project training, which takes about two hours to complete. Participants can learn how to initiate conversations on advance care planning and assessing patients’ and carer’s palliative and supportive care needs. CPD points are available.
The second stage, includes specialised face-to-face clinical training and local support for practices, presented by Gold Coast Primary Health Network (GCPHN) and Gold Coast Health Specialist Palliative Care.
A date claimer for the first of these sessions has been set for 15 May 2019 and additional details about this training will become available closer to the date.
