Gold Coast Health (GCH) has introduced a new hotline for general practitioners (GPs) to have access to information about their patients.
The new service is available for GPs who require assistance to find results or information about appointments and recent admissions and who need support navigating the Health Service.
Your call will be answered by a Service Navigator from the Complex Care Team who can assist with non-clinical queries and who will escalate clinical issues to the appropriate clinical team members. The Complex Care Team is available 7 days a week: Monday to Friday from 7am-5pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 8am-4.30pm.
The number for this service is 1300 00 42 42.
For GPs who know the department, doctor or ward they would like to contact, there is a priority telephone number that will be answered promptly by switchboard, reducing the time GPs wait on the phone. The switchboard operator will then connect GPs as required.
The number for this service is 07 5687 0003. Please note that both numbers are for the use of GPs only.
Complex Care Team members (L to R): Julie Lovatt (RN), Rhian Campbell and Angela Coleman (Service Navigators)
