Over the last nine months, the GPLU have successfully visited 170 general practices across the Gold Coast which has helped build reputable relationships between the local Hospital and Health Service and Primary Care. Practice visits have played a vital part in the roadshow providing the opportunity for GPs and practice staff to raise questions regarding the health service and allowed for collaborative engagement to improve the quality, safety and experience for patients and their carers.
Due to the uptake and commitment from GPs, we have seen a considerable surge in the number of referrals being submitted on the most recent and correct referral template suite; equating to 80% of our overall referrals received within the Bookings and Referrals Centre.
