It’s certainly been another huge year in general practice, marked by the role out of MyMedicare and recent changes to the GPGC Board.
Firstly, I would like to thank the outgoing Chair, Dr Tammra Warby. She has been a very dedicated member of GPGC and fierce advocate for general practice, especially during the challenging times of Covid. We wish her all the best in her new adventures. GPGC is also pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Kristy Bayliss as the newest addition to our Board of Directors.
We would like to thank the PHN for their ongoing support over the last 12 months. GPGC is committed to continuing a close working relationship and representation for its members.
On the education front, GPGC recently hosted another successful education event focused on dermatology. Thank you to Dr Stephen Thomas for delivering a thorough and interactive presentation. Stay tuned for polls on our Facebook page, allowing you to have your say on upcoming education events in 2024.
We continue to support our members via our Facebook page and website. If you haven’t already done so, I encourage you to sign up on gpgc.com.au and create a profile.
GPGC is looking for volunteers to be involved, especially with our events. This presents a unique opportunity for you to contribute to the enhancement of general practice delivery on the Gold Coast. For those interested in discussing this opportunity further, please reach out at email@example.com
Finally, as we approach the festive season, I extend warm wishes for a safe and merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you and your loved ones.
