Heart Foundation Health Professional Ambassador Program Workshop

The Heart Foundation is seeking health professionals including but not limited to doctors, nurses, pharmacists, allied health professionals, and Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Health Workers who are passionate about improving cardiovascular health to become a Heart Foundation Ambassador.

Together we can support the prevention, early detection and better management of cardiovascular disease.

What’s involved?

To complete the Health Professional Ambassador Program, you will need to:

• Attend 2 full day workshops in 2020
• Be available for 2 half day online meetings
• Have access to email and internet for ongoing communication between workshops
• Be an active participant in workshop discussions
• Gain approval and support from your manager to participate in the program and create a workplace project
• Undertake an evidence-based Workplace Activity Project consistent with the Heart Foundation priority areas. This involves research and gathering anecdotal evidence to assist you in formulating and assessing a cardiac quality improvement activity
• Commit to the delivery and ongoing implementation of your project

• Absolute cardiovascular disease risk
• Recent updates on cardiac conditions
• Cardiac rehabilitation
• Depression, stress and CVD
• Public health and health promotion
• CVD and nutrition
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and CVD
• Heart Foundation programs and resources
• Advocacy and change management
• Public speaking and effective patient education

How to apply

• Discuss the program with your manager to ensure you can attend the required full day workshops, videoconferences and implement the Workplace Activity Project. Tentative workshop dates are below
• Submit a written application by answering questions on the attached form
• Complete and sign form with your professional details and attach a short supporting email or letter from your manager
