The Queensland Paediatric Sepsis Program (QPSP) is seeking to engage healthcare professionals and consumers (including young people and parents/carers) to explore post-sepsis services and supports for families (surviving and bereaved).
Consultation is occurring using focus groups, to understand:
medical and support needs following discharge from hospital for a child diagnosed with sepsis and their family
support needs for a family bereaved from sepsis
gaps in available supports; and
recommendations for essential features of a post sepsis model of care.
If you have experience in working with families with a child or adolescent with sepsis, or other chronic condition, please click here to register for your preferred time to attend a focus group, commencing February 2023.
QPSP will also be seeking participation from parents and carers who have had a child or adolescent diagnosed with and treated for sepsis in a Queensland hospital. They will participate in separate focus groups.
Given the state-wide remit of this work, it is crucial for speak with health professionals throughout Queensland who understand the key challenges for families following sepsis.
