The Queensland Chief Health Officer has now revoked the Residential Aged Care Visitor Direction (No.2) and the Requirements for International Arrivals Direction.
Visitor Requirements
The Residential Aged Care Visitor Direction (No.2) was introduced as a temporary public health measure to assist in preventing and managing COVID-19 transmission in RACFs in Queensland and was revoked effective from 30 June 2022.
There are no longer visitor entry restrictions and visitor requirements for RACFs under directions from the Chief Health Officer of Queensland. Operators of RACFs are no longer required to collect visitor and volunteer contact information, proof of vaccination or vaccination exemption through the Check-In Queensland App or display the QR code at all entrances to the facility.
Please note, operators are encouraged to risk assess their services and continue to ensure that quality and safe services are provided. Local policies or procedures that aim to support good outcomes for residents are encouraged.
Also, visitors must comply with continuing mask wearing requirements in accordance with Public Health Face Mask Requirements Direction (No.5). Restrictions on entry for close contacts, people with COVID-19 or at higher risk of infection also remain in place via the Management of Diagnosed Cases of COVID-19 and Close Contacts Direction.
International Arrivals
International arrivals are considered the same risk to transmission as community members and subject to the same conditions of entry to vulnerable and high-risk settings as community members.
