The Queensland Department of Health has been requested to coordinate the development and implementation of state wide Clinical Prioritisation Criteria (CPC). The CPC aim to ensure equitable and timely access for patients requiring public medical and surgical specialist services.
Queensland Health are seeking broader stakeholder consultation on the clinical content of both the draft Cognitive Impairment and Dementia CPC and the Rheumatology CPC.
Please note: this is not the final format of the CPC. The CPC website shows the online format of CPC that have already been developed. These will also be developed into the GPSR templates and released in the new year.
Feedback can be submitted via email to Liz Travers at cpc@health.qld.gov.au by COB Friday, 20 December 2019.
For Cognitive Impairment and Dementia CPC along with Rheumatology CPC a draft CPC had been developed by a Clinical Advisory Group (CAG) including medical specialists, general practitioners, nursing and allied health professionals. The CAG for Cognitive Impairment and Dementia was led by Dr Emily Ahern and Dr Kannan Natarajan. The Rheumatology CAG has been led by Dr Helen Benham.
Currently CPC have been developed for 374 conditions across 25 specialty areas and cover adult and paediatric conditions. Over 800+ clinicians across medical, nursing, allied health and general practice have been involved as members of Clinical Advisory Groups to guide the development of these CPC.
If you have any questions about the CPC program or would like further information please contact the CPC team on 07 3328 9040 or cpc@health.qld.gov.au.
