In addition to this, as you may be aware, the melanoma guidelines have recently been updated to recommend the use of total body photography for melanoma surveillance of high risk individuals. Currently melanoma surveillance photography is not reimbursed by Medicare and the Melanoma and Skin Cancer Trial Group (MSAC) submission last year was unsuccessful due to the lack of evidence and understanding of how many patients are referred for this service as well as the costs involved. The responses to this survey will also help to address these questions raised by MSAC.
