The new items apply to RACF residents referred for allied health services under the following treatment, management or care plans:
Under the new items, existing call-out fees for GPs and Other Medical Practitioners (OMPs) services have been expanded to include face-to-face attendances in RACFs for the contribution to multidisciplinary care plans and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Assessments.
These items complement new temporary allied health items for RACFs, which include the provision of five additional physical therapy services and two additional exercise physiology group services for eligible RACFs residents.
These temporary MBS items are applicable for non-admitted patients that reside in an RACF and cannot be claimed as part of hospital treatment.
More information, including fact sheets for GPs, OMPs and allied health providers are available here.
The COVID-19 MBS Items pathway can be found here.
