Click here to apply to become a recognised vaccination provider on the AIR.
Once registered, medical practice staff can access the AIR site using a practice authentication file.
From August 31st, medical practice staff can only access their practice’s AIR provider number for the AIR site, using an authentication file.
A reminder to register now if your practice isn’t yet registered. This will ensure your staff can continue to access the AIR site.
Complete the Australian Immunisation Register – Application to register as a vaccination provider form (IM004) and send it directly to Department of Human Services. Once this form has been processed they’ll give your practice an AIR provider number. Use this number when you send immunisation details to the AIR.
Read more about how to access the AIR using HPOS.
If your practice is already registered, your staff can continue to use your practice authentication file until the DHS write you about transitioning to PRODA.
Unauthorised use of an authentication file breaches the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Immunisation Register Act 2015.
Note: if your medical practice became a recognised vaccination provider before 9 September 2018, you must complete the online request access form to access the AIR site.
Please tick the following box on the IM004 form
DHS advise the form can be submitted by Post, Email: AIR@humanservices.gov.au or Fax: 08 92544810
If you have a Medicare provider number, you’re automatically a recognised vaccination provider on the AIR.
We’ll be turning off your individual authentication file in the near future (August 31) and you’ll need a PRODA account to access the AIR site.
If you already have a PRODA account, you don’t need to create another one. You can use PRODA to access the AIR site now.
