Gold Coast Primary Health Network (GCPHN) undertakes a range of activities to identify priorities in our region. Through these activities including our annual needs assessment and engagement with our local community, healthcare professionals and other relevant stakeholders and groups we identify health care priorities for the region.
We plan solutions in partnership with stakeholders and identify opportunities to engage local service providers. We will call for tenders then appoint and commission the most suitable providers to meet the needs of our region.
When we have opportunities available, they are outlined below. We also seek Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for our activities. View here.
Gold Coast Primary Health Network (GCPHN) is seeking submissions from existing general practices to establish a Medicare Urgent Care Clinics (UCC) in the Statistical Area 3 (SA3) of Southport.
A Medicare UCC provides clinically appropriate community-based and patient-centred care to eligible patients with urgent non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries (ED triage category 4 & 5) who would have otherwise attended a QLD Emergency Department to seek treatment.
Medicare UCCs uniquely distinguish their services from usual care general practices as they provide short term, episodic care for non-life-threatening urgent conditions requiring same day assessment or treatment. Once a patient has been treated at a UCC, they will be discharged, and ongoing management and clinical care will be handed over to the patient’s usual GP.
Medicare UCCs are required to have extended hours of operation, walk-in treatment availability, and adhere to the minimum standards as referenced in the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care Operational Guidance for Urgent Care Clinics (the Guidance).
A multistage approach will be undertaken to identify the most suitable entity to enter into a service agreement.
Expressions of interest are now open for the first stage of the tender process.
The purpose of this EOI is to assess the ability of bidders to provide the Services as specified in this document. An overview of GCPHN requirements in relation to this EOI are set out in the Service Agreement including Schedules and Appendices.
The EOI document provides bidders with advice and guidance about submitting a response. Bidders are advised to carefully review the instructions and assessment criteria prior to submitting a response.
