This event is designed to provide GPs and optometrists with CPD learning hours. GPs will be able to self-record 1.5 EA hours (Educational Activity) with their respective college.

• Learn how to describe orbital signs
• Understand an overview of types of orbital conditions
• Learn how some of the more common orbital conditions differ from their clinical and imaging features
• Understand some of the basic treatment and management plans for orbital conditions

Topic: Glaucoma

• Define the types of glaucoma, including primary open-angle, angle-closure, and secondary glaucomas.
• Recognize key risk factors for glaucoma
• Interpret intraocular pressure (IOP) readings in the context of central corneal thickness and diurnal variation.
• Assess the optic nerve head and RNFL for glaucomatous changes using fundoscopy and OCT.
• Differentiate glaucomatous visual field defects from other optic neuropathies using perimetry.
• Understand the role and limitations of screening tools
• Identify red flags warranting urgent referral to ophthalmology (e.g., acute angle closure, rapidly progressive field loss).
• Co-manage stable glaucoma patients with clear criteria for referral back to specialist care.
• Understand first-line and adjunctive medical therapies for glaucoma, including side effects and contraindications.
• Communicate effectively with patients about glaucoma prognosis, adherence, and follow-up needs.
