Keeping the moisture balance for wound healing is an integral part of a wound management plan. Moist not macerated is best practice. However, this can be very challenging and managing a dry wound can be as hard as managing a wet wound. Oedema to the surrounding tissue can further complicate the healing process. What causes oedema, why do some wounds have more exudate than others?
This workshop explores wound exudate and oedema management. We will start with exploring both these topics and apply this to clinical practice.
The second part of this workshop is an interactive session on dressings to manage exudate and adjunct therapies for oedema management that can be applied in different clinical environments.
