We are actively involved in advocacy efforts alongside Gold Coast PHN and Queensland Health. Our participation in the Primary Care Queensland (PCQ) and the clinical council allows us to voice the concerns and needs of general practitioners. We also maintain ongoing meetings and cross-promotion activities with Queensland Health’s GP liaison team to ensure your voices are heard and your issues addressed promptly.
We are committed to improving our connection and support for general practitioners in the southern regions. Plans are underway to establish stronger ties with the Healthy North Coast PHN to further support our colleagues across the border. This collaboration aims to foster a more integrated approach to healthcare delivery across regions, ensuring that all practitioners have the resources and support they need.
We continue to advocate for general practice, especially in improving communication between tertiary and primary care sectors. Your feedback is invaluable, and we encourage you to share your experiences and suggestions. Together, we can drive meaningful improvements in our healthcare system.
On that note, to further enhance our advocacy efforts, we will be setting up bi-monthly (every two months) 30-minute Zoom/Teams meetings. These sessions are designed to canvas any issues you may be experiencing on the ground in general practice. Your participation is crucial in helping us understand and address the challenges you face.
Please reach out if you wish to be involved. We are looking for a spread of GPs across the Gold Coast and Northern NSW.
We are thrilled to announce our venture into podcasting! This new initiative will connect you with non-GP specialists on the Gold Coast, providing valuable insights and fostering a collaborative environment. Stay tuned for more details on our upcoming podcast episodes.
The AGM was held on 6 June. It was great to see so many of our members. A big thank you to our sponsors for the evening; Gold Coast PHN, Mylab Pathology and Healthy Brain and Memory Centre.
We encourage all members to stay engaged and connected with GPGPC. Your participation and feedback are essential as we navigate these initiatives and work towards a more efficient and supportive healthcare environment.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
Warm regards,
Dr Nicole Langsford and the GPGC Board
