A JOINT INITIATIVE OF:
The Joint Regional Plan for Mental Health, Suicide Prevention, Alcohol and Other Drugs Services aims to set out the agreed way forward for improved collaboration and integration between mental health, suicide prevention, alcohol and other drugs services in the Gold Coast region.
A Strategic Oversight Committee provides leadership and guidance for the plan’s implementation, working with local partnership groups and stakeholders to make progress towards the shared outcomes identified in the Joint Regional Plan.
GCPHN and Gold Coast Health are committed to open communication on progress of the Joint Regional Plan:
Background
Gold Coast Primary Health Network (GCPHN) and Gold Coast Health jointly led the development of the Joint Regional Plan which was officially launched in July 2020. The plans development was informed by people with a lived experience, service providers, clinicians and community stakeholders and details a shared understanding of the issues our region faces, a shared vision for the future and a joint strategic roadmap for future service provision.
To learn more about the governance groups and meeting outcomes from the planning phase, please view the Joint Regional Plan Development Process.
As an initiative of the Joint Regional Plan, a Suicide Prevention Community Action Plan (CAP) was developed utilising the LifeSpan framework to support a holistic approach to suicide prevention in our region.
The CAP seeks to strengthen relationships and collaboration in the planning, coordination, and implementation of suicide prevention activities. As this plan is ambitious and wide-reaching, people are encouraged to use it to guide all suicide prevention activities in the Gold Coast region. This plan is intended to be iterative and ongoing and a Suicide Prevention Implementation Group provides guidance for its implementation.
