Queensland Health has released the Queensland STI Plan 2030 and a supporting Plan on a Page, outlining the strategic framework for addressing sexually transmissible infections across the state.
The STI Plan provides the framework for the policy and programmatic response to sexually transmissible infections in Queensland. It is framed around five interconnected pillars:
Prevention
Testing
Person-centred treatment and care
Stigma and discrimination
Governance, research, surveillance and monitoring
The STI Plan sets targets for 2027 and 2030, with a comprehensive set of indicators to track progress. A mid-point review will be conducted in 2028 to assess achievements and adjust strategies in response to emerging challenges and evidence-based developments.
