Last year our mission was set – To empower local sport, fitness, recreation and wellness organisations to deliver sustainable inclusive programs. Providing mentorship, education and investment to organisations, the Active Inclusion Project (AIP), it allows greater opportunity for participation to people with disabilities.
On Thursday 4th July at the Gold Coast Sport and Leisure Centre, Carrara, the inaugural Active Inclusion Programs showcase event brought industries together to celebrate five amazing organisations that received funding through the AIP to deliver and expand upon their inclusive services.
These organisations continue to show best practice examples of inclusion and build upon their service offerings. The AIP is excited to continue to watch and support them to grow and evolve in this space.
The AIP has partnered with so many amazing Gold Coast industry stakeholders who through the power of collaboration have given their time, knowledge and support to ensure the success of the AIP.
A big thank you to all of the collaborators who have helped shape the AIPs evolution.
AIP has big plans for the future with a new arm to the program announced soon as well as continuing to mentor and offer seed funding to Gold Coast sport, fitness and recreational organisations who wish to offer adaptive programs to people with disabilities.
Do you have an idea or are already offering an inclusive program on the Gold Coast?
