Immunisations have a vital role in preventing the spread of infectious diseases and protecting individuals from serious health complications. It is important to maintain high levels of vaccination coverage in Australia to ensure herd immunity within populations and reduce the overall healthcare burden by preventing illnesses and outbreaks before they occur.

Gold Coast Primary Health Network (GCPHN) invite Gold Coast general practice nurses to an educational and networking session for the annual GCPHN Immunisation Update.

Topics include:

• General immunisation program update including reviewing the new pneumococcal changes with QLD Immunisation Branch
• Hot topics in Immunisation including information on Hepatitis B, RSV, Pertussis, Live Vaccines and more
• Exploring immunisation focused quality improvement activities
• Peer experiences from the Nurse Immunisation Scholarship

 Learning Outcomes: 

• Describe key updates and changes in the general immunisation program as outlined by the Queensland Immunisation Branch.
• Understand current immunisation information and best practice recommendations for a variety of immunisations, such as Hepatitis B, RSV, Pertussis and live vaccines.
• Identify strategies for implementing immunisation-focused quality improvement activities in general practice.
• Understand key lessons from the Nurse Immunisation Scholarship and its benefits for participants and general practice.
