Help influence the future of GP Registrar placements on the Gold Coast

The General Practice Workforce Planning and Prioritisation (GP WPP) program has been created to support GP College-led general practice training through the provision of robust, independent evidence-based information on planning and prioritisation of GP Registrar placements to meet GP workforce needs.

As a General Practitioner, your experience and knowledge will be critical to aid GCPHN to create robust, independent evidence-based information on planning and prioritisation throughout 2023-25. The GP WPP activity will:

• Provide analysis on current and future community needs for general practice services, which will help inform GP Registrar placement decisions by the GP Colleges. This will be delivered through the Workforce Needs Report (WNR).
• Provide advice and analysis on the training capacity in each PHN region, which will assist the GP Colleges to match registrars to suitable training placements and inform training capacity building activities. This will be delivered through the Training Capacity Report (TCR).
• Document training pathways in each PHN region, which will assist GP Colleges to support registrars with suitable training options.

This face to face discussion will focus on:

1. The Workforce Planning and Prioritisation Program, its purpose and scope.
2. Gaining local insights from General Practitioners.
3. Developing a report to inform RACGP and ACRRM decision making.
4. Open discussion to identify any other issues or concerns.

A light dinner will be provided.
