Free LGBTIQ+ inclusive palliative care eLearning is now available free to healthcare professionals working within the aged, health and palliative care sectors.
The innovative online training program is designed to equip health professionals with the knowledge and skills to provide respectful and inclusive care to LGBTIQ+ individuals with life-limiting illnesses.
Developed in partnership with palliative care experts and co-designed with LGBTIQ+ communities, the modules cover topics including:
LGBTIQ+ communities
Specific healthcare needs
End-of-life concerns
Barriers to palliative care
Inclusive end-of-life conversations
Strategies for supporting loved ones
Creating welcoming and inclusive environments
As an approved activity of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, completion of the course contributes to continuing professional development (CPD) hours and is also recognised by other health professional bodies.
A total of 12 CPD hours can be achieved by completing all four modules (or 1.5 hours per module). Certificates are provided for evidence following completion of each module.
