MyMedicare is a voluntary registration system designed to formalise the relationship between you, your general practice, and your preferred general practitioner (GP).
Research shows that seeing the same GP and healthcare team regularly can lead to better health outcomes. By registering with a general practice that participates in MyMedicare, you help ensure this continuity of care.
When your general practice accepts MyMedicare registrations, it unlocks additional Australian Government funding to support tailored care based on your specific needs. This funding allows your registered GP to offer extended telehealth consultations and bulk-billed telehealth services for children under 16 and Commonwealth concession card holders, including at a new triple billing rate.
For aged care residents, MyMedicare provides additional incentives for healthcare providers to deliver proactive care through regular visits and comprehensive care planning.
By registering with MyMedicare, you’re taking a step towards more personalised and effective healthcare.
By registering as a patient, additional funding becomes available to your healthcare provider to deliver the care you need.
