Behind the scenes, and with credit to new board member Dr Nicole Langsford, GPGC continues to develop and tighten its policies and governance.
GPGC is also working closely with the PHN, providing representation for the Workforce Planning and Prioritisation program, and the Strengthening Medicare local working group. I will be on the panel at the GCPHN event regarding Strengthening Medicare on 15th August. As it is already over-subscribed, we encourage members to submit questions to firstname.lastname@example.org. GPGC is also looking at potentially hosting an additional event regarding “My Medicare” in October for our members, so please reach out to email@example.com if you want to contribute to shaping it or have any feedback.
GPGC has put out an EOI to look at mentoring future GP board members, via committee roles and other input, so please reach out to Chairman@gpgc.com.au, if this interests you.
After much work, especially by board member and Secretary Dr Laura Baxter, and other prior board members, the GPGC website https://gpgc.com.au is now linked to the local HHS Health Pathways service. Of benefit to our members, this means your doctor profile is searchable for the HHS and patients when they are discharged. Please fill out your doctor profile and special interests (under membership) if you haven’t already to help improve integration and access on the Gold Coast.
