The RANZCP Section of Neuropsychiatry is pleased to collaborate with the Section of Psychiatry of Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (SPIDD) and the Global Neuropsychiatry Group (GNG) to present their 2026 Neuropsychiatry Conference.
This multidisciplinary meeting will bring together experts in psychiatry, neurology, psychology and allied health to explore contemporary research & clinical practice at the evolving interface of brain and mind.
Guided by the theme ‘From Neurons to Narratives: The Integrated Science of Brain & Mind,’ the program will examine how advances in neuroscience are shaping the understanding and management of complex neuropsychiatric conditions, while recognising the important role of patient experience in informing care.
The program will feature focused sessions highlighting key developments in brain & behaviour including advances in neuropsychiatric disorders, contemporary perspectives on neurocognitive disorders & brain injury, and emerging evidence on sleep and its impact on mental and cognitive functioning. Sessions will also explore established and emerging neurostimulation & neuromodulation therapies, alongside innovations in assistive technology and memory prosthetics supporting cognitive rehabilitation & patient care.
Interactive skills-based workshops will complement the scientific program, providing practical opportunities to apply knowledge in clinical settings.
A pre-conference Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) workshop will be held on Thursday 12 November, offering a dedicated day focused on the diagnosis & management of FND for health professionals navigating this complex & evolving field.
The conference offers an opportunity to connect with colleagues, exchange ideas, and gain practical insights to support clinical practice & research.
