Interested in the current evidence on starting, continuing and stopping statins for primary prevention in older adults?

This journal club explores two recently published trials on the use of statins in this age group, and their implications for general practice.

We’re delighted to be joined by Prof. Mark Nelson, an author of the NEJM atorvastatin trial, to share his expertise and join the discussion.

The Journal Club will include:

A welcome and introductory case study from Professor Nick Zwar, local GP and Executive Dean, Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine, Bond University.
A critical appraisal of both trials by Associate Professor Loai Albarqouni.
Expert commentary from guest speaker Professor Mark Nelson (Tasmanian School of Medicine, University of Tasmania), an author of the NEJM trial, reflecting on the implications for primary care.
