BBV and STI testing and treatment at Medicare UCCs
Medicare Urgent Care Clinics can now provide comprehensive BBV and STI testing as part of sexual health screening in the context of CDINS responses. They can initiate first-line management where appropriate and refer for radiology, pathology or specialist care when clinically indicated.
Patients will be referred back to their usual GP for ongoing management, support and follow-up, especially for chronic care needs. For complex cases or serology advice, contact the Queensland Syphilis Surveillance Service:
