We’ve partnered with the GP Liaison Officer and Healthy North Coast NSW to address GPs’ concerns about patient discharge from hospitals. Thanks to our ongoing advocacy, Queensland Health is now working to improve their discharge processes. A special thanks to the GP Liaison Officer and her team for their unwavering support on this front.
Our recent MyMedicare event, held in collaboration with the GCPHN, was a tremendous success. We appreciate the GCPHN’s continued support of general practice, especially as these significant changes take effect. The partnership with the GCPHN has been invaluable in keeping our community informed and prepared.
GPGC was also pleased to host a coffee morning with Dr Michael Wright, who has successfully campaigned to become the next RACGP President. Congratulations to Dr Wright on his new role, and thanks to all the members who attended this event.
GPGC are also thrilled to share that our first podcast is set to launch later in September. It will feature engaging discussions on the latest developments in general practice with expert guests and valuable insights.
Looking ahead, we have an exciting lineup of events for the rest of the year. Our first educational webinar on psychedelic-assisted therapy is just around the corner – be sure to check the GPGC Facebook page for details. Additionally, a dermatology event is fast approaching, promising valuable insights and discussions.
To round off the year, we invite you to join GPGC for a more social occasion – a trivia night with a dash of education on Wednesday 13 November. It’s the perfect opportunity to unwind, connect with colleagues, and learn something new in a relaxed setting. We can’t wait to see you all there and look forward to an exciting few months ahead.
A big shout-out to all our members and the GCPHN for your unwavering support in our advocacy and educational efforts. We look forward to meeting more of you at our upcoming events and continuing our work to support general practice in our community.
Warm regards,
Dr Nicole Langsford and the GPGC Board
