Two information sheets have been developed on how patients with Acute Rheumatic Fever (ARF) and Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) can stay safe during COVID-19.
The key messages from these information sheets are:
Keep getting Bicillin needles and other medications
Stay at home unless you need the clinic
Stand 1.5m away from people you don’t live with
Wash hands with soap often
Clean hard surfaces of the home with disinfectant
Contact the clinic if you are unwell or need Bicillin
Tell the clinic about your ARF/RHD
These resources were developed by the RHD Action Plan team, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Division, Queensland RHD Register and Control Program, The Heart Foundation and RHD Australia in consultation with valued statewide stakeholders.
