Angi joins GCPHN with almost 30 years of experience across the health sector. Most recently, she served as Group Chief Operating Officer at Mater, where she led a major organisation-wide transformation to improve integration, efficiency and patient experience across Queensland’s largest not-for-profit health provider. After taking some time to travel and spend time with her family, Angi now brings her energy, insight and collaborative leadership style to the Gold Coast.
Angi said she feels honoured to join GCPHN at such a pivotal time for the region’s health system.
“I’m excited to become part of both the PHN and the broader Gold Coast community. GCPHN’s mission to strengthen foundations while boldly transforming for better health outcomes really resonates with me. I’m looking forward to working with our GP, primary care and hospital partners to achieve measurable impact for the communities we serve.”
Angi’s appointment follows the upcoming retirement of current CEO Matt Carrodus, who has led GCPHN for nearly 20 years and leaves a legacy of innovation, influence and accountability in strengthening primary health care on the Gold Coast.
Board Chair Dr Ka-Kiu Cheung said, “We are delighted to welcome Angi to GCPHN. Her leadership will help build on our vision of building one world class health system for the Gold Coast and drive the continued implementation of our 2024-2026 Strategic Plan, ensuring GCPHN remains an innovative and collaborative organization focused on improving the health and wellbeing of our community.”
