Last week, GCPHN was proud to be part of a sector conversation focused on the powerful connection between housing security and mental health.
The theme of the day — connecting the dots between safe homes and strong minds — reflected what we see across community services every day. Mental health and housing are deeply interconnected. Without stable housing, it’s incredibly difficult for people to engage with or benefit from mental health supports. At the same time, housing alone is rarely the full answer — recovery also takes time, trust, psychosocial support and connection to community.

At GCPHN, this reinforces our role in joining the dots — supporting existing services to work more closely together, strengthening partnerships across mental health, housing and community sectors, and continuing to look at how service design can better respond to people where they are.
We’re grateful to have been part of a room filled with people committed to supporting some of the most vulnerable members of our community, and we look forward to continuing this work together.
