Free events across the Gold Coast will bring people together for a week of connection, kindness and wellbeing this September.
Gold Coast Wellbeing Week is back for its third year, inviting Gold Coasters of all ages to connect, have some fun and discover simple new ways to support their own mental wellbeing and the people around them.
Running from 7–13 September 2026, this year’s program features seven free events across the city, from a senior’s morning tea and community connection day to a morning wellbeing session by the beach, a kindness pop-up and a walk to shine a light on suicide prevention.
With a theme of Connection Starts Here, the week recognises that feeling connected – to ourselves, to other people and to our community – can make a real difference, particularly when life gets tough.
The program has been developed by the Gold Coast Suicide Prevention Collaborative, with support from Gold Coast Primary Health Network (GCPHN), City of Gold Coast and a range of community and event partners.
They are hoping to top the hundreds of people who took part in the 2025 event.
Gold Coast Primary Health Network Executive Director Jacqui Greig said Wellbeing Week was a chance for everyone to take a small step towards greater connection and communication with each other.
“Social connection is one of the strongest protective factors for mental wellbeing and, at time when many people are feeling the impacts of cost-of-living pressures, we have intentionally kept every event free, so everyone has the opportunity to take part,” Ms Greig said.
“This is a week when we recognise the importance of looking after ourselves and checking in with others and we really encourage Gold Coasters to get involved.
“From sharing a cuppa to meeting new people, taking a walk, enjoying live entertainment or simply stopping for a moment to connect with others, the program offers plenty of ways for everyone to get involved.”
Gold Coast Suicide Prevention Collaborative spokesperson Amanda McClelland said she was looking forward to being involved again this year.
“Everyone involved last year, organisers and those who took part from the community, had tremendous experiences and I for one can’t wait to get involved again and take part in as many events as possible,” she said.
