The Course in Immunisation Practice in Primary Healthcare (10754NAT) is the second level of the Immunisation Clinical Pathway and students must complete the first level Foundations of Immunisation Practice Program before continuing on with level two. The course is designed to provide students with the specific knowledge and skills that will enable them to perform a range of comprehensive immunisation services under the direct order of a Medical Officer, remain up-to-date with current programs, changes, and requirements relevant to their scope of practice.

The course is available to Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, GPs and others on application. A minimum of 3 months employment or experience working with clients in primary healthcare is also required.
Gold Coast Primary Health Network has partnered with The Benchmarque Group to run the face-to-face component of the workshop. This workshop will involve activities such as cold chain management and administration of vaccines in a simulated environment. Practice and assessment are performed on a mannequin, with the practical assessment conducted during the skills activity session.
