Nurse Immunisation Scholarship

Gold Coast Primary Health Network (GCPHN) is offering fully funded Nurse Immunisation Scholarships to support the development of the primary health workforce in immunisation in the region.

Applications open: Monday 2nd February 2026

Applications close: Wednesday 18th February 2026

Who can apply: 

Local nurses operating within the Gold Coast PHN region are invited to apply for the Nurse Immunisation Scholarships by 5.00pm AEST on Wednesday 18th February 2026. This includes:

  • Registered Nurses (Division 1)
  • Enrolled Nurses (Division 2)

The aim:

Nurse Imms Scholarship

Supporting the Queensland Immunisation Schedule.

Scholarship inclusions: 

  • GCPHN will fund a one-off payment of $1,160.00 to scholarship recipients at completion of the course to support the time taken to complete the course. Proof of course completion (certificate) and an invoice for the above amount (template provided) needs to be submitted to GCPHN.
  • Onboarding survey before commencement of the immunisation course and an evaluation survey on conclusion of the immunisation course (provided by GCPHN).
  • Dedicated support from a QI Project Officer to implement and an immunisation quality improvement (QI) activity in your practice focusing on your choice of population group including:
    • Childhood Immunisations (0-5yrs)
    • Adult Immunisations Vaccinations
    • Pregnant Woman
    • Winter immunisations including influenza/COVID-19/Pneumovax
    • Documentation of this QI activity will use Plan, Do, Study, Act (PDSA) cycles.
  • Opportunity to attend a Gold Coast Public Health Unit (GCPHU) vaccination clinic, (30mins – 3hrs duration) to observe the vaccination process for a range of consumers and gain exposure to the extensive skills that GCPHU nurses have in supporting a seamless, person-centred approach to vaccination.

Immunisation Course for Health Professionals for Healthcare Practitioners delivered by the Benchmarque Group.

  • Nationally accredited course and endorsed by the Health Education Services Australia (HESA accredited)
  • Is online, flexible and self-paced plus includes a compulsory one-day virtual or face-to-face workshop.
  • Immunisation course must be completed by Tuesday 30th June 2026.
  • Is equivalent to 70 CPD points.

  1. Read through this webpage prior to expressing your interest.
  2. Applicants submit EOI form here.
  3. GCPHN acknowledges receipt of application submission via email.
  4. GCPHN checks applicants AHPRA status and place of employment as outlined in eligibility requirements.
  5. Successful and unsuccessful applicants are notified via email.
  6. Successful applicants will enter into a Scholarship Agreement with GCPHN, emailed via DocuSign by 27th February 2026.
  7. Instructions on how to enrol into the Immunisation Course for Health Professionals will be sent via email from Benchmarque after GCPHN have received signed Scholarship Agreement.

If applying for this opportunity, nurses must meet the following requirements in order to receive a scholarship:

  • Hold a current AHPRA registered nurse (Division 1) or enrolled nurse (Division 2) qualification.
  • Currently work in a Gold Coast General Practice/s and provide immunisations as part of your role.
  • Have not successfully completed an accredited immunisation course previously.
  • Must be able to commence the course by Tuesday 30th June 2026.
  • Your application for this scholarship needs to be endorsed by your practice manager.
  • Be willing to undertake 70 hours active online, self-paced study (CPD hours) within the required timeframe.
  • Agree to reimburse GCPHN the full cost of the course ($850) should you be unable to complete the immunisation course in the required timeframe provided.
  • Applicants agree for details to be shared with the course provided (Benchmarque Group) for the purpose of enrolment, course progression and to share evaluation results with GCPHN.
