The below resources and services have been developed to support GPs and health professionals to identify appropriate services for referral.
Head to Health Phone ServiceThe Head to Health Phone service offers a free, confidential, and friendly mental health assessment and referral service for GPs, health professionals, carers, consumers, and their families. Anyone who is unsure where to seek appropriate support (for themselves or someone they care for) can call Head to Health between Monday to Friday 8:30am – 5pm (excluding public holidays) for guidance and support. The Head to Health intake team has a growing and extensive knowledge of local Gold Coast services and with the patient’s consent, will follow up with GPs to let them know the outcome of any referrals made. Head to Health will also follow up with the patient after an initial referral is made, to ensure they have engaged with the service. GPs can phone Head to Health on behalf of their patients, for general enquiries, or refer patients to call 1800 595 212. GPs can also forward a completed Head to Health referral form via:

As a GP, you are eligible for a $300 incentive payment (excluding GST) for completion of the training. To organise payment please submit an invoice to accounts@gcphn.com.au. You can complete the invoice template or use your own invoice template. If you have an ABN and are registered for GST, please add $30.00 GST to the invoice for a total of $330.00.
Please note that GCPHN are required to withhold tax at the highest marginal income tax rate when we pay an individual without an ABN unless an ATO Statement by Supplier is completed. Please complete a Statement by Supplier if necessary. If you’re unsure about the “Reason/s for not quoting an ABN” section on the Statement, please check with your accountant.

The workshop content explored various topics, including psychological distress, suicide, and risk of harm.
