Gold Coast Primary Health Network commissions a range of services including local mental health, alcohol and other drugs, suicide prevention and chronic disease services to meet different needs of people in the Gold Coast region. Our commissioned services are available at no cost to patients.
Referrals and Triage service provides a central point for receiving and assessing GP and psychiatrist referrals (low to high intensity) for people who are not in crisis and require mental health, drug and alcohol and suicide prevention support.

The multi-disciplinary team coordinates intake for the Gold Coast Primary Health Network’s mental health care services. In a stepped care approach, a person presenting to the mental health system is matched to the intervention level that most suits their current need

The Psychological Services Program (PSP) is a moderate intensity service that offers short term structured psychological therapies delivered by a range of providers contracted by the Gold Coast Primary Health Network.
The Psychological Services Program (PSP) offers short term structured psychological therapies delivered by a range of providers contracted by the Gold Coast Primary Health Network. The program supports people who have a health care card and would benefit from receiving short term therapy for moderate mental health needs. This program is not suitable for people that may need longer term and more comprehensive interventions.
The program is available for people who identify with any of the following groups:

Clients must meet all the following criteria to be eligible for referral:

Clients in the above categories must be referred to more appropriate mental health services; e.g. Better Access, medical assessment, acute mental health services, etc.
Primary and Community Care Services Referral and Triage
The Way Back Support Service (The Way Back) is a low to high intensity non-clinical psychosocial support and transition service for people who may have recently attempted suicide or are at risk of suicide and have presented to either Robina Hospital or Gold Coast University Hospital.
People who have attempted suicide or experienced a suicidal crisis often experience severe distress in the days and weeks immediately afterwards, and they are at high risk of attempting again.
Beyond Blue developed The Way Back Support Service to support them through this critical risk period. The Way Back provides non-clinical, tailored support for up to three months following discharge from hospital after a suicide attempt or suicidal crisis.
A Support Facilitator contacts the person within one business day of receiving their referral and tailors a program for up to three months after discharge from hospital which includes building a personalised safety plan and linking them to health and community services and clinical care if needed.
