APNA at the request of and with funding from GSK has developed this comprehensive new module to support primary health care nurses with an understanding of meningococcal disease, the burden of disease and immunisation choices to assist in prevention.

Promoting Participation in the National Immunisation Program is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge that can be applied to their day-to-day work and will help support a change of practice within their health organisation. By encouraging colleagues and peers to modify and change their current ways of practice they can make immunisation activities more conducive to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.

On completion of the program students will have the skills and knowledge to work directly with patients, clients, families and communities to provide advice and encouragement to ultimately improve immunisation rates for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.

This course provides general information on COVID-19 and specific information on storage, handling and administration of the vaccine, recording and monitoring including for adverse events following immunization (AEFI), and communication (acceptance and demand) through a series of short video lectures and quizzes to test your knowledge. This course is primarily for frontline health workers who will be vaccinators and priority recipients.

As a healthcare provider, you can now simulate digital health functionality through software simulations at a time that suits you. Please note that the training environment is not intended to provide detailed training for trainers on how to use the clinical software supported. Instead it provides a tool for trainers to demonstrate how the specific digital health functions work. It is recommended that you are familiar with your selected clinical software prior to running a training session.
